Review of Rakuten Insight (Paid Survey Site)

There are two ways to make money on Rakuten Insight:

First Option

The first option is filling up surveys. The length of each survey varies but in general, they are between 3 to 25mins. You earn points after you completed each survey. The points are indicated on each survey as shown in the image below. One important thing that you have to note is that the point indicated for each survey is the maximum you can earn up to. This means that in some cases, the company that you are filling up the survey for may not give reward you up to the full amount if you have been disqualified halfway through the survey. This is also where Rakuten Insight stands out from the rest of the survey sites,  some points are also rewarded even if the candidate has been disqualified halfway through the survey.

Second Option

The second option to earn is by participating in the referral program, Invite & Earn where you can earn points from your referrals. You can earn bonus points each time a friend you have invited creates an account and completes their profile or take surveys over a month. The referral program, however, is for invited members only. The site did not mention the basis of how they select the members that are eligible for the program. In my own experience, it seems that the more active you are on the platform, the higher your chances of being selected for the referral program. 

How to exchange points?

You can exchange your points for rewards by clicking the Point Shop section of the website or mobile app. The reward items mainly consist of Paypal and vouchers. The type of vouchers may vary from one country to the other. In my country of residence, Singapore, the voucher consists of S$5 Dairy Farm Group voucher, Grab Transport Code and eCapitalVoucher. 

The minimum points for exchanging for each of them will be a minimum of 75 points (eg. 75 points = S$5). Do note that this may also vary from one country to the other. One important thing to note is that the rewards are not immediately credited. It depends on the delivery date range indicated for each option as shown below. 

Who can join Rakuten Insight?

Rakuten Insight is available in the United States and the following countries: China, Hongkong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, France, United Kingdom.

To become a member of Rakuten Insight, you must be at least 16 years old.

How to join Rakuten Insight?

To join, you can click on my referral link that will lead you to the platform to fill out the registration form, thereafter, a confirmation link will be sent to your email address for you to confirm.

I will recommend using another email other than your primary email to sign up for Rakuten Insight, the reason is that the platform will notify you via email for each survey that you are eligible for, and over a period of time, you may find your email being flooded with all these survey notifications.

After completing your registration, the first important step that you will need to do is to complete your basic profile. Once that is done, you will be able to start receiving surveys.

Conclusion

In my view, Rakuten Insight is a decent site for earning vouchers and Paypal cash. It has a low minimum payout, and it offers a convenient payment method.
